Prince William and Catherine Middleton have decided to set up a charitable gift fund for those who want to donate to charity to help the couple celebrate their wedding. All funds donated to The Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund will be held by the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry in a specially designated fund and distributed to charities which support the causes listed by the couple. Distribution of the Fund will be at the sole discretion of the Trustees guided by the preferences registered by donors. They have selected 6 areas of charitable work that people can contribute to: Children fulfilling their potential, Support for service personnel and their families, Changing lives through arts and sports, Help and Care at home, Conservation for future generations, or the option to send a gift to all charities.

What a great idea if you are moving and lugging gifts is not on your list of things to do along with your wedding plans. Also, more and more couples have already set up house before their wedding and do not want elaborate gift registries. Giving to charity is a wonderful way to receive blessings for a wedding.

Other ideas that are of new and trending culture are those for wedding favors. We don’t know yet what Kate and William have in store for their royal wedding guests; however couples are opting to donate to their favorite charity in honor of their guest rather than give out wedding favors. There are also simple wedding favors that can be placed at each wedding reception place setting to compliment the donation card. Such wedding favor ideas are little pink favors if one is donating to breast cancer. Simple a white favor box filled with candy and embellished with pink satin ribbon with the little note are perfect. Pink Jordan almonds in a bundle of tulle are an inexpensive wedding favor and a nice gesture. If your choice of donation is to the Red Cross then white favor boxes with red ribbon would be perfect. Fill these favor boxes with red heart candies for the perfect touch. Some charities also offer their own donation cards and wristbands to give out to guests. It is important to remember that wedding guests are there to honor the couple so donations should be low key and carefully thought out.
